The Independent Readers Challenge tasks children in grades 3-5 with reading 5 different books in 16 different genres for a total of 80 books. It takes a lot of dedication, hard work and time to complete.

WEEK 6
A HIGH SEAS ADVENTURE
Shiver me timbers! Captain Book has been cursed to live as a pirate with a book permanently attached to his hand. Worse, he has been forced to tell the same story to his crew of Book-A-Neers over and over again! To break the curse, kids at home join Page, Kenny, and a cast of salty dogs on a comic quest to discover the captain’s treasure trove of overdue library books. Along the way, our heroes discover a treasure map, solve riddles, and sing a sea shanty or two in this “piratical” production filled with swashbuckling fun.
