National Library Week begins on April 12th and ends on April 18th. Stop by the library all week long to enter the daily raffle drawings and up your chances to win the big weekly prize of a basket stuffed with even more great prizes!

Book Reviews For Kids, By Kids

All ages

Have you read anything really great lately? Share it with others! Simply write a brief review of a book, magazine, audio book, or graphic novel, and we’ll post it on our children’s blog!

All children who submit a review will be entered into a raffle. There will be multiple opportunities to win prizes!

New York Life Child ID Cards

All ages

Visit the library on Friday, April 24th, to get a free ID card for your child provided by New York Life. Children are digitally fingerprinted and photographed to make ID cards using the EZ Child ID System, the nation’s most comprehenzive digital fingerprinting system. All data is automatically erased upon printing the Child ID. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Ages 0-5

We would like to invite you to participate in this free program which encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten. Simply read a book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler and record it. If you read just one book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. At that rate you can read over 1,000 books in just three years! The key is perseverance! The concept is simple and the rewards are priceless.

The library will facilitate this program by helping you to keep track of milestones and handing out fun prizes as you read more books!
